We have spent years refining our process to combat the specific failure points of Ohio concrete. Our reputation is built on transparency, technical precision, and respect for your property. We are proud to be one of the few contractors in Northeast Ohio utilizing 2026-standard Polyaspartic resins that allow for same-day return to service, even in winter temperatures.
Specialized Concrete Floor Coating Systems We Install
We treat every floor as a unique entity with specific requirements based on its usage and location. We offer three distinct systems, each engineered for specific performance metrics.
Flake Coating Systems
Partial Epoxy Flake Coating System
A partial epoxy flake coating system is a cost-effective way to upgrade concrete floors with improved durability, easier maintenance, and enhanced visual appeal without the heavier build of a full broadcast system. By lightly distributing decorative vinyl flakes into a strong epoxy base, this system creates subtle texture, added slip resistance, and natural color variation while still allowing the base coat to show through for a clean, balanced finish. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install partial flake systems across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio for garages, basements, and utility spaces where homeowners want a professional-looking floor that resists stains, dust, and wear without the added cost of maximum thickness coatings.

Full Broadcast Flake Coating System
A full broadcast flake coating system is engineered for maximum durability, traction, and long-term performance in high-traffic or moisture-prone environments. This system involves broadcasting decorative flakes “to rejection” over a base epoxy coat, creating a dense, uniform surface that delivers superior slip resistance and impact protection. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install full broadcast systems throughout Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio for garages, commercial facilities, and industrial spaces where floors must withstand heavy use, chemicals, and frequent cleaning. We tailor each installation by selecting the appropriate aggregate—vinyl flakes for decorative appeal, quartz for enhanced durability, or sand for maximum traction—while balancing cleanability and texture to meet the specific demands of the space, ensuring a safe, professional-grade finish that performs in even the toughest conditions.
When to choose a full broadcast system
A full broadcast epoxy system is the right choice when you need maximum traction, durability, and the ability to effectively mask imperfections in the concrete slab. By broadcasting flakes or aggregate to full rejection, this system creates a dense, textured surface that performs exceptionally well in demanding environments. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we recommend full broadcast systems for service bays, warehouses, washdown-adjacent areas, garages, and high-traffic commercial floors throughout Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio where slip resistance, long-term wear performance, and a more forgiving finish over imperfect concrete are critical.
System thickness and texture are selected based on slab condition, traffic, and cleanability requirements.
Metallic Epoxy Floor Coating System (The 'Exotic' Pour)
A metallic epoxy floor coating system—often called an “exotic pour”—is a premium, seamless flooring option designed to deliver a one-of-a-kind, high-end appearance with depth, movement, and natural flow that cannot be duplicated. This system uses metallic pigments suspended within a clear epoxy base to create a marbled, three-dimensional effect, making every floor completely custom. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install metallic epoxy floors across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio in basements, rec rooms, showrooms, bar areas, and retail spaces where visual impact is just as important as performance. Marble or granite look epoxy offers a smooth, durable, and easy-to-clean surface best suited for controlled interior environments. The result is a bold, artistic floor that transforms ordinary concrete into a statement feature while still providing long-lasting protection and durability.

Solid-Color Epoxy and “Flat” Systems
A solid-color epoxy floor coating system, often referred to as a “flat” system, is a clean, uniform solution designed for functionality, durability, and easy maintenance without the added texture or visual variation of flakes or metallic finishes. This system delivers a smooth, seamless surface that performs exceptionally well in workshops, mechanical rooms, light industrial facilities, and garages where a consistent appearance and reliable protection are the priority. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install solid-color epoxy floors throughout Cleveland and Northeast Ohio for property owners who want a professional, no-nonsense finish that resists chemicals, abrasion, and daily wear while remaining easy to clean. Solid-color systems are also ideal for environments that require clear zoning, line striping, or safety markings, making them a practical and efficient choice for both residential and commercial applications.
Quartz and Sand Broadcast Systems
A quartz and sand broadcast epoxy flooring system is built for maximum traction, durability, and safety in environments where slip resistance is critical. By broadcasting specialized aggregates like quartz or silica sand into a high-performance epoxy base, this system creates a textured, hard-wearing surface ideal for pool-deck-adjacent areas, commercial wet zones, and industrial spaces throughout Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we tailor each installation by selecting the appropriate aggregate size and topcoat to balance traction and cleanability, ensuring the floor remains safe underfoot while still being manageable to maintain. The result is a highly durable, slip-resistant surface engineered to perform in demanding conditions without sacrificing long-term usability.

Polyaspartic Topcoats and Fast-Return Systems (The "1-Day" Shield)
A polyaspartic coating system is commonly used as a high-performance, UV-stable topcoat or as part of a fast-return flooring system where minimizing downtime is critical. Known for its rapid cure time and long-term durability, polyaspartic allows floors to be installed and returned to service quickly—often within a single day—making it a popular choice for garages, commercial spaces, and high-traffic environments across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we focus on doing it right, not just fast—because true performance comes from proper surface preparation, moisture testing, and system design before any coating is applied. When installed correctly, a polyaspartic system delivers excellent abrasion resistance, color stability, and long-term protection, providing a fast yet reliable flooring solution that holds up under real-world conditions.
Urethane Cement for Heavy-Duty Commercial and Industrial Floors
A urethane cement flooring system is engineered for the most demanding environments where traditional epoxy alone may not perform—especially in areas exposed to thermal shock, hot water washdowns, aggressive chemicals, and heavy impact. This system combines cementitious materials with high-performance urethane resins to create a thick, highly durable surface that bonds exceptionally well to concrete and withstands extreme temperature fluctuations without delamination. We install urethane cement floors for commercial kitchens, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and industrial settings where safety, sanitation, and long-term reliability are critical. Designed for both strength and functionality, urethane cement systems offer excellent slip resistance, moisture tolerance, and chemical protection, making them a true expert-level solution for facilities that require flooring built to handle the toughest real-world conditions.

Concrete Staining and Sealing
Concrete staining and sealing is an excellent option for property owners who want added color, character, and a finished look without installing a thicker resin coating system. This approach enhances the natural appearance of the concrete by using acid or water-based stains to create rich tones and variation, followed by a protective sealer that improves durability and cleanability. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we provide staining and sealing services across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio for decorative interior floors, retail spaces, basements, and commercial environments where a polished, branded aesthetic is the goal. The key to long-term performance is selecting the right staining method and sealer based on the condition of the slab and the level of traffic or wear expected, ensuring a result that looks great while holding up to everyday use.

Where These Systems Perform Best
Garage Floors
Garage floors in Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio are exposed to some of the toughest conditions—salt-laden meltwater in the winter, hot tire transfer, moisture, and constant temperature swings that can break down improperly installed coatings. We design garage floor systems based on real-world performance, not just marketing claims like “no hot tire pickup” or “salt resistant.” The key is in the system build and preparation: proper mechanical grinding, moisture evaluation, and the right combination of basecoat, broadcast layer, and topcoat to handle thermal movement, chemical exposure, and daily wear. We also factor in UV exposure from sunlight through the garage door, slab condition, and whether you prefer higher traction or a smoother, easier-to-clean surface—ensuring your garage floor not only looks great but performs reliably year after year in Northeast Ohio conditions.

Basement Floors
Basement floors in
Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio require a careful, system-driven approach due to their potential for moisture vapor transmission, which can cause coatings to fail if not properly addressed. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we take a “we test, we don’t guess” approach—evaluating each slab for moisture conditions before recommending the right solution. This may include moisture-tolerant primers or full mitigation systems designed to relieve vapor pressure rather than trap it beneath the coating. By combining proper surface preparation with the correct product selection, we ensure basement floors achieve long-term adhesion, durability, and a clean, finished look without the risk of premature failure.
Residential Interior Floors
Residential interior floors—such as home gyms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and workshops—benefit from seamless, easy-to-clean surfaces that are both functional and visually intentional. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we design flooring systems for homes across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio based on how the space is actually used, factoring in abrasion levels, cleaning frequency, moisture exposure, and slip risk. Whether you need a durable, low-maintenance surface for daily wear or a more decorative finish that enhances the look of your space, we tailor each system to deliver long-lasting performance with a clean, professional appearance. The result is a floor that not only holds up to everyday use but also elevates the overall look and usability of your home.

Commercial Floors
Commercial floors demand performance first—balancing traction, cleanability, durability, appearance, and minimal downtime to keep operations running smoothly. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install high-performance flooring systems across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio for retail spaces, showrooms, commercial kitchens, warehouses, and medical facilities, tailoring each solution to the specific operational needs of the environment. Whether the priority is slip resistance in wet areas, seamless sanitation for regulated spaces, or a polished, professional look for customer-facing environments, we build systems designed to perform under real-world conditions. For more specialized applications, explore our Retail & Showroom, Commercial Kitchens, and Medical Facility flooring solutions to find the best fit for your space.
Industrial Floors
Industrial floors require systems engineered for heavy loads, constant abrasion, and exposure to chemicals, oils, and harsh operating conditions. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install high-performance industrial flooring solutions across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio that are built to handle real-world demands in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and production environments. These projects often require advanced surface preparation, including crack repair, joint stabilization, and in some cases moisture mitigation depending on the age and condition of the slab. By combining the right materials with proper prep and system design, we deliver industrial floors that provide long-term durability, safety, and reliable performance under the toughest conditions.

Warehouse Floors
Warehouse floors demand performance above all—requiring the right balance of durability, traction, cleanability, and minimal downtime to keep operations moving efficiently. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we install high-performance warehouse flooring systems across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio designed to withstand heavy equipment, forklift traffic, abrasion, and chemical exposure. Each system is built based on how the space is used, whether that means reinforced coatings for high-load areas, slip-resistant finishes for safety, or smooth surfaces for easier cleaning and maintenance. Our approach ensures long-term performance without unnecessary disruption, while also allowing for clear zoning, striping, and operational organization within the space.

We have the knowledge and know-how to handle any and all concrete floor. Just take a look:
Our Installation Process and Quality Controls
This is where 90% of floor failures are prevented—and where most shortcuts happen. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we don’t skip steps or rely on quick “prep” methods like the typical “guy with a truck.” To achieve a true mechanical bond that lasts for decades, we strictly follow Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) standards established by the International Concrete Repair Institute. That means we don’t just clean the concrete—we mechanically grind and profile it to properly open the surface, allowing coatings to penetrate, anchor, and perform as designed for long-term durability.
Step 1: Substrate Evaluation Before We Recommend a System
Before any coating is applied, we perform a detailed substrate evaluation to ensure the concrete is suitable for long-term performance—not just short-term results. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we assess slab condition, cracking, surface integrity, and contamination risks such as oil or residue that can interfere with adhesion, while also evaluating moisture behavior when relevant to prevent future coating failure. We take a “test, don’t guess” approach—using proven methods to identify vapor transmission, surface profile requirements, and structural concerns before selecting any system. This allows us to properly match the coating build to the actual conditions of the concrete, rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all solution. The result is a floor system designed from the ground up for proper bonding, long-term durability, and reliable performance in real-world Northeast Ohio conditions.

Step 2: Mechanical Surface Preparation and Diamond Grinding (Profiling)
Proper surface preparation is the foundation of long-term adhesion—there are no shortcuts. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we follow established industry standards for Concrete Surface Profile (CSP), ensuring every floor is mechanically prepared to achieve a true bond, not just surface-level adhesion. We do not use acid etching, as it is a DIY method that introduces moisture into the slab and fails to properly remove contaminants like tire residue, sealers, and oils. Instead, we use industrial planetary grinders weighing 600+ lbs, equipped with aggressive 30-grit PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) tooling to physically remove the top layer of concrete and fully open its pores, creating a CSP-2 profile comparable to the texture of 100-grit sandpaper. This profile acts as the mechanical “key” that allows coatings to penetrate and lock into the slab, ensuring proper adhesion, eliminating weak surface layers, and providing a foundation for long-term performance in real-world conditions across Cleveland, Parma, and Northeast Ohio.
Step 3: Moisture Testing and Moisture Mitigation Options
Moisture is one of the leading causes of coating failure, often resulting in blistering, bubbling, or complete delamination if not properly addressed. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we follow a formal, standards-based protocol before any installation begins, including in-slab relative humidity testing in accordance with ASTM International ASTM F2170 (RH probes) and, when applicable, moisture vapor emission rate testing per ASTM F1869 (calcium chloride), along with a Mohs hardness scratch test to verify surface integrity. In areas like Parma, Lakewood, and throughout Northeast Ohio, clay-heavy soils can create hydrostatic pressure that forces moisture up through the slab, making proper evaluation critical. That’s why we take a “test, don’t guess” approach—if moisture levels exceed acceptable thresholds (typically above 4%), we adjust the system accordingly by incorporating a specialized Moisture Vapor Barrier (MVB) primer designed to block vapor transmission and prevent future coating failure, ensuring long-term adhesion and performance.

Step 4: Mending & Reconstruction -
Crack, Spall, Joint Treatment
Not all cracks are the same—and treating them correctly is critical to long-term performance. At Cleveland Epoxy & Coating Pros, we evaluate whether cracks are cosmetic (static) or active (movement-related) and select the appropriate repair method, from rigid polyurea fillers for stable cracks to flexible materials for joints and areas with potential movement. We also repair spalling, pitting, and surface damage to restore structural integrity before coating. What we fix: surface cracks, minor spalling, joint edges, and damaged areas that can be properly stabilized and rebuilt. What we can’t fully hide: active or structural cracks that may telegraph over time, even after repair. What requires a different solution: slabs with significant movement, heaving, or structural failure that may need more extensive repair or replacement before coating. By setting clear expectations and using the right materials for each condition, we ensure a floor that performs reliably without overpromising unrealistic results.
Step 5: Coating Build, Base Coat & Broadcast - Final Inspection
With the surface properly prepared, we begin building the coating system by applying a 100% solids, self-priming epoxy base coat designed to penetrate and “wick” deep into the open pores created during grinding, forming a true chemical bond with the concrete. While this base layer is still wet, we broadcast UV-stable vinyl flakes to rejection (100% coverage), creating a dense, uniform surface that delivers a stone-like appearance along with added texture and impact resistance. This step not only enhances durability but also helps protect the floor from wear, abrasion, and daily use. Before moving forward, we perform a detailed inspection to ensure full coverage, proper adhesion, and consistency across the entire surface, setting the stage for a high-performance finished system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will road salt damage this coating?
No. Our Polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous and chemically resistant. Salt sits on top of the coating rather than penetrating it. You can simply hose it off. This stops the salt from eating your concrete (spalling).
Is the floor slippery when wet?
A smooth epoxy floor can be slippery. However, our Flake System inherently adds texture/grip. For pool decks or steep driveways, we can add an additional non-slip aggregate (aluminum oxide) to the topcoat to ensure safety without compromising cleanability.
How long does the installation take?
90% of our residential garage projects are completed in one day. We arrive at 8:00 AM to grind and repair, and by 5:00 PM, the final coat is down. You can walk on it the next morning and park your car the following evening.
